Why Provide Concierge Executive Health?
Organizations have a lot to gain by investing in an executive health program. First, studies show companies who enact these programs save a very large sum of money on healthcare costs. Secondly, key employees are less likely to take time off work for health reasons if there are programs in place that are easy for them to access. In a study conducted by the University of Michigan, researchers found that companies who offer annual executive physicals receive 20% fewer health claims and 45% fewer days off per executive.
Enacting an executive healthcare program within your company also has the potential to demonstrate to your high-level executives that the company cares about their well-being. These executives are instrumental in the overall success of companies. This is an excellent addition to a total rewards package for your C-Suite team.
Executive employees have some of the most high-stress positions in the world. These leaders feel the burden of the entire company, as well as directing managers and team members. This stress is taxing on a person’s overall health, especially their cardiac health.
From a medicinal perspective, high-level executives are at a higher risk of heart attacks and strokes due to increased levels of cortisol in the body. Cortisol is the chemical that is produced when a person experiences stress – and if there is too much, cardiovascular, glucose regulation, cholesterol levels, inflammation, and even memory can be adversely affected.
The result of constant stress is an increase in heart rate and secretion of stress hormones as part of the fight-or-flight response. Fight or flight is your body’s way of preparing itself for potentially dangerous or harmful situations. When people are placed under constant stress, this response begins to stay turned on for longer periods of time. Long-term exposure to cortisol and other stress hormones increases the workload for the heart and leads to hypertension (high blood pressure). Cortisol causes blood sugar spikes, that increases weight and cholesterol. This in turn increases risk for stroke or heart attack.
Our executive health programs at Concierge Medicine can help you ensure that your executives have the ability to stay healthy and focused while reducing stress. We help organizations improve the performance of their executives while reducing the risk that is involved in these high-stress positions.

Helping your leadership understand where they stand with their overall health is the first step to improving overall wellness. We offer biometric screenings that assess what cardiovascular risks employees may face in the next 10 years. We accomplish this through a comprehensive test that covers lipid panels and Hemoglobin A1C, among others.
What executives use for fuel is critical, we start with a comprehensive food sensitivity test and a complete micronutrient assay. This provides a base assessment and details the foods that cause an inflammatory response. The CMA (Cellular Micronutrient Assay) includes >200 individual items. Vitamin, Minerals, Amino Acids, Other Nutrients, Botanicals, Plant Extracts, Pigments, Phytonutrients, Antioxidants, Anti-inflammatory Nutrients, Fatty Acids, and Enzymes are all part of the CMA. The antioxidant assay lets us know how you can reduce oxidative stress inside your body through changing your diet. With this information we can target reduction of inflammatory foods, while improving antioxidant protection. This allows executives to fight stress more efficiently and limit inflammation.
NAD+ is a chemical that is found in all living cells and that has been recently utilized as a very powerful nootropic – or brain-boosting supplement. The use of NAD+ is popular because it helps combat the effects of neurodegeneration. Loss of neurons and associated cells can lead to Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and other crippling neurological disorders.
For executives, though, it has been shown to improve overall cognition, reduce brain fog, enhance focus, and more. The chemical gives neurotransmitters in your brain enhanced function, helps balance brain chemistry, and boosts cognitive function. NAD+ is safe and has the ability to help your body improve its natural healing functions and help your executives thrive even in the highest stress situations.
Intravenous or IV therapy can give executives the essential vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and amino acids they need to lead a healthy and balanced life. Infusions are the most effective way to deliver key vitamins and nutrients to the body. These drips include key vitamins such as Vitamin C, saline (for hydration), magnesium, B vitamins, Calcium, and other key nutrients, based on the executives CMA results. High-stress jobs require focused and well-nourished individuals, which is why IV drips are a great option for executive health programs.
Keeping an organization healthy is complex and complicated, however COVID testing reduces downtime and demonstrates caring for team members. There are a variety of different COVID-19 tests that work by testing for infection as well as for antibodies. These tests are all reliable methods for detecting infection in any individual.
We will discuss three types of tests, viral, antigen and antibody. Tests for active infection are key to stopping the spread, especially at events, weddings, and or corporate functions. Viral tests look for the virus in your breathing passages and are used to determine if you are currently infected. There are two different types of viral tests, NAAT’s and Antigen.
- Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) or NAAT, test for active infection. NAAT’s are a type of viral diagnostic test that looks for SARS-CoV-2 specifically, which is the virus that causes COVID-19. NAATs detect genetic material in those who are tested. They specifically identify the RNA (ribonucleic acid) sequences that comprise the genetic material of the virus.
- NAATs use material from either the upper or lower respiratory tract in order to gather tissue that contains genetic information. The NAAT procedure works by making copies of the virus’s genetic material and amplifying it. By amplifying the nucleic acids, testing agents can detect even the smallest amount of SARS-CoV-2 RNA. This makes these tests highly sensitive for testing for infection of COVID-19.
- The other type of viral test is the antigen test. Antigen tests involve a slightly more complicated process that detects the presence of the COVID antigen. These tests are better known as “the swab” due to the nasal samples that are taken. Antigen tests for SARS-CoV-2 are generally less sensitive than the NAATs, however fast and convenient for those actively demonstrating symptoms. These tests are also referred to as the “rapid tests” because the results are available within about 15-20 minutes.
- Antibody testing, or serology testing, is a blood test that’s done to find out if you’ve had a past infection with SARS-CoV-2. Antibodies are proteins produced by your immune system in response to an infection. Your immune system identifies foreign substances in your body and uses antibodies to help detect and fight infections. After infection of COVID-19, it can take two to three weeks to develop antibodies to be detected in a test. This makes testing for antibodies useful to see if a person has had COVID-19 in the past several months.
COVID Testing After Vaccination
Can you test positive after the vaccine? The short answer to this question is yes! If you have an antibody test this would show antibodies to the virus or a positive result. This a good thing! A positive PCR would indicate active infection, yes even after vaccination.
Vaccinations help us develop immunity by imitating the way a pathogen triggers our immune system to fight it, but in a way that doesn’t cause disease. Vaccines only show a part of the coronavirus to our immune systems to trigger a reaction, and at most may only contain a very small part of the complete genetic material of the virus. This allows your body to fight off the virus the next time you encounter COVID. Yes, the next time because chances are we have all contacting the virus in the community in the last year.
Vaccinated folks can still catch COVID if the SARS-CoV-2 virus still gets into your cells and replicates. Even though this is the case, the power of the vaccine is that it prepares your immune system to be ready for this scenario. It causes symptoms to be much milder where only 2% of total infections lead to death. The vaccine, in short, drastically reduce symptoms in cases where the virus is able to replicate. The COVID-19 vaccine is crucial in order to help your body have the ability to fight off this infection in the rare case it is not eliminated before it reaches your cells and achieves replication. This is essential for you, family, friends and your workplace. As an example, a company of 500 people decides to test employees and 15 team members return positive. Whether or not those team members are vaccinated is irrelevant, they can still spread COVID to others and take it home to family. This is why vaccination and testing should be part of every company health initiative.
